Dear Terra Sol Pre-Members,
I suppose most new developments start off with a tremendous amount of excitement as initial plans, architecture, and engineering take shape on a new piece of hand picked land. Such was the case for Terra Sol. Even after receiving required approvals, there were unavoidable obstacles that can never be estimated in advance.
We never expected local Baptist ministers to voice their outrage over naturists. We never expected County officials to knowingly admit their commitment to the ministers, in spite of their responsibility to the law. My spiritual life is very important to me. I never expected the hate and fear expressed by Baptist church ministers against me and my family. These and a host of other issues have delayed our development kickoff and the envisioned schedule.
The exact location of Terra Sol is not definite. While we favor one particular location, we have other locations under evaluation which we will continue to evaluate in compromise with local influences. It is not our aim to force Terra Sol on Desoto County, but rather, convince the local population that Terra Sol will greatly benefit everyone in Desoto with environmentally conscious energy production, water management, and sharing of the resort’s resources with everyone, regardless of whether they are a resort member. These are standard neighborly actions that will hopefully be enjoyed mutually.
Today we are committed more than ever to succeed the Terra Sol development plans for our location in Desoto County even though our schedule is somewhat lengthened. Terra Sol will take all measures provide County officials the opportunity to do what’s right and not what the local churches ask them to do. Land will be secured that enables Terra Sol to be built profitably so that we maintain the ability to give back to the community. The majority of Desoto residents have spoken loudly that they favor Terra Sol and want us to build the resort in their community. It’s ironic that many of the most outspoken residents are also members of the very Baptist churches whose ministers vehemently object to Terra Sol.
Those who educate themselves about social nudism and naturism know that there are no adverse affects to communities that embrace nudist resorts. Florida has many examples of areas hosting nudist resorts who boast an increased tax base for county-wide benefits. Just ask the residents of Osceola or Pasco Counties what they think of their nudist resorts!
Please be patient a little longer as we continue the journey through Desoto County! We’ll soon be announcing plans agreeable for approval by County officials. Terra Sol will soon break ground on the world’s greatest nude resort. Yes, nude golf, tennis, world class pools, and the finest nude neighborhoods shall become a reality in 2009.
Life is good,
Don Wagner
